Book launch for British author Angie Butler whose book, Arctic Ice Tracks, is a story about today’s heroic age of polar adventure, featuring recent expeditions to north pole and the Arctic.
Also Margaret Graham Award presentations.
Where: Common room, 470 Laurier Ave. West.
Time: 6 p.m.

Cost: $20 non-members,  $15 members, includes light meal. Coffee only $7.00.


Saturday, December 12, 2009 - Potluck supper, silent auction and sharing of accomplishments at the home of club member Valerie Knowles.

Guest speaker: Janice Fiamengo, Ottawa University professor and author of The Women’s Page. Where: Library and Archives Canada, Room 156. Time: 6 p.m. Cost: $15 Media Club members, $20 non-members, includes light meal. Coffee only $7.00.

Monday, February 22 -
Guest speaker: Hon. Flora MacDonald, Member of Parliament for Kingston and the Islands from 1972 - 1988, a leader in peace, health and world issues. She will speak about her work with girls in Afghanistan. Where: Library and Archives Canada, Room 156. Time: 6 p.m. Cost: $15 Media Club members, $20 non-members, includes light meal. Coffee only $7.00.

Saturday, March 27 - a half-day workshop -
Meet members of the Van Dusen Family

Where: Algonquin College. Time: 9 a.m.  Cost: $25.00 Media Club members; $35.00 non-members.


Monday, April 19 -
Guest speaker: award winning author Charlotte Gray, will speak about her historical novels. Where: Library and Archives Canada, Room 156. Time: 6 p.m. Cost: $15 Media Club members, $20 non-members, includes light meal. Coffee only $7.00.

Monday, May 17 -
Guest speaker: Rob Clipperton will discuss his career with CBC radio. Where: Library and Archives Canada, Room 156. Time: 6 p.m. Cost: $15 Media Club members, $20 non-members, includes light meal. Coffee only $7.00.

Saturday, June 19
- A day trip to The Abbey for the Arts, a retreat facility with an art gallery, fine food and much more, near Alexandria. Estimated cost for lunch a$25-$30.
