HEALD, Henry F.
1929 - 2016
Henry F. Heald died on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at
the Central West Hospice in his 88th year. The youngest son of Charles Wesley
Heald and Ethel May Grover of Thunder Bay, Ontario, he is survived by his wife,
D. Patricia (Baker) Heald, his two daughters, Brenda (Bruce Legg) of Kars and
Carolyn of Kingston, and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Madeline, Cameron and
Sean. He is survived by a brother, Lance (Janet) of Thunder Bay. He was
predeceased by a sister, Shirley (George Taylor) and a brother, Wesley. A
long-time journalist and freelance writer, Henry worked for The Evening
Tribune in Welland, The Canadian Press, The Ottawa Journal, Agriculture Canada,
The Anti-Inflation Board and the Canadian International Development Agency. He
was a former member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery, an Honorary Life Member
of the Ontario Institute of Agrologists, a Life Member of the Canadian Farm
Writers Federation and a member of the Media Club of Canada. A reception will
be held on Sunday, December 4, from 2-4 p.m., at Carleton Memorial United
Church, 740 Melfa Crescent, Ottawa, Ontario. Donations to the charity of your
choice would be appreciated by the family.
